A gold mining ESIA was conducted in Filabusi by EGS for Sunrise Syndicate, who mines and processes gold ore within its premises. The mine is called Nigel West Mine. The company’s plant consists of two stamp mills, ball mill, magazine, cyanide tanks, Jaw crusher, and other equipment. The company is in the process of building staff houses. The mine conducts private milling, elution and stripping is done offsite.

To access Nigel West Mine, one travels about 3.4km from Filabusi turn, which is along Mbalabala-Zvishavane highway road and takes the Gwanda University turn. One then moves 627m away along the Gwanda University turn and turns and travels for approximately 200m to the project site.
